2004 Election

I’m sad because I got caught up with school, vacation, and summer break, which resulted in not finding the remaining eggs for the Qbee Egg Hunt :( I ended up with 130 eggs, but stupid me forgot to write down the information for about 10 of the eggs, so I don’t get credit for those.

Anyways, the following paragraphs contain MY views and opinions, so beware:

I know a lot of people have their opinions on George Bush, so I have mine on John Kerry. I can’t stand that man, and it’s not just because of his politics. He is an egotistical, rich snob. What really infuriates me is that he claims that he doesn’t need the south to win this election. When I’ve listened to his speeches, he hasn’t told me why I should vote for him; rather, he has told me why not to vote for Bush. Of course, I’m a bit biased because I’m a Republican, but I don’t think that he is a good politician. I hate the amount of ‘mudslinging’ taking place in this current campaign. Speaking of campaigning, I purchased a ‘W‘ sticker for my car… I will post a pic of it tomorrow.

Another thing that bothers me is the recent scandal concerning the treatment of Iraqi prisoners. Why does no one seem to care about the American man who was beheaded by the Iraqis? Or the treatment of our troops imprisoned in Iraq? Sometimes I get the feeling that there are very few partriotic people left in my country, which is really discouraging …

FoxNEWS rocks my socks :flip: This was an interesting article discussing the views of the 2004 candidates.

I didn’t write the above with intent to offend anyone; I’m just all fired up over the recent news. I’m ordinarily not an outspoken person, but that doesn’t mean I don’t have my opinions. Feel free to share your opinions, but please don’t be immature.

My best friend, Rachael, is coming to Florence tomorrow from Nashville and I’m looking forward to seeing her. We’ve planned an afternoon at the lake, so I hope the weather is good and the boat is running :P Well, my plan to get in bed early tonight failed miserably. The funny thing is that I started writing this post at 11pm (It is now 12:30 am) haha I’m slow at everything I do, even bloggin’!

Anyways, time for bed. Thanks to my devoted commenters: candy ¬? Jem ¬? Katy ¬? kitsune ¬? Michelle ¬? Nagaki ¬? Natasja ¬? Salome ¬? Sam ¬? Sanne ¬? tuan

I know the feeling, I’ve only got 106 eggs because I have been so busy with college work. :/

You say everyone seems to be forgetting the American soldiers? I disagree. From what I’ve seen amongst my LJ friends, everyone is forgetting the Iraqis and going on and on about the American that was beheaded. I don’t think either side have been treated fairly, and I think the sooner we pull out of Iraq, the better. We did what we went there to do - we captured Saddam. The rest, well, they can do that themselves.

the world is full of whining tree hugging hippies totally hell bent against war. back in the days of the really big wars, hundreds of thousands died and nobody cried about it like they do now. politics sucks!

Your are right on about John Kerry…I have never once heard him say what he would differently if he were president, he only takes the time to point out where he think George W. has messed up. It ticks me off as well. Personally, I think George W. is a fine president (*ahem* way better then our previous president I might add…way better). Anyway, I’m a republican too so I guess I’m biased as well…oh well :D

Ah, the egg hunt…I only found about 120 eggs myself…oh well. It was fun anyway! Have a good day!

I have about 113 Eggs but a lot of people are leaving them up until the contest is officially over, so if you hunt a lot in the next 24 hours I’m sure you can find a bunch that you’ve missed :spin:

I agree, I can’t stand him. I’m not very involved with politics myself, but my dad always tells me why he thinks what he does.. it can get quite boring, but I learn some things!
Earlier, before a democratic candidate was picked, he was using the fact that he served in Vietnam to try and support himself, saying that he did all this good stuff.. then later states that he hates war and spoke out against it the minute he came back. I don’t like that. :P
And I agree, the media makes the war seem completely terrible, emphasizing the bad things to make Bush look bad.. that’s just not fair. :/

I still have my three eggs up if you haven’t found them yet? :)

Hi! I love to visit your site though I’ve never commented before. Anyway, don’t ever feel like you cannot express your opinion even if it is not the “popular” perspective, as long as it is educated and informed. It is so refreshing whenever a person speaks from their own heart instead of mimicking the ideas of another. :-)

I respect ur opinions. I’m not really into politics like I don’t really understand it, so I can’t really say anything…. I hope you have a lot of fun with Rachael tomorrow! :D

I absolutely LOVE the web browser looking layout, but I can’t see the whole extra bar/sidebar thing, which also means I can’t change the template.

    I have to disagree…

Americans and Britain and various others went to war under the terms of WMDs…They haven’t been found. They also went to free the Iraqi people. The fact that some butch american equivalent of a TA member can go and abuse prisoners in a country that they were supposed to be helping is obviously wrong and the murders that have occured inside the prisons more so. For America’s ‘war on terror’ to be accepted by the rest of the world then the american forces have to be ‘whiter than white’. America has a lot of PR work to do because a hell of a lot of people in a hell of a lot of countries feel strongly negative towards the US.
