Ragin’ Conservative

Before I begin my political ranting, I’ll post a few tidbits of good news. First, let’s all congratulate Peter - his comment was #1000! I don’t have a prize for him because I’ve been lacking in the creativity department lately O_o Next, I want to plug two BEAUTIFUL websites - Passing Travelers Network & Labra-Lege… do visit them both; they are very talented webdesigners!

Now, on to my ranting. Dodo has been hosting a political debate on her blog that could rival the upcoming Bush/Kerry debates  Since sometimes I feel alone in a world of liberals, I decided to contribute my opinions to the crossfire. I’m not going to post all of my arguments here since you can read them on Dodo’s blog. I, however, must agree with Dodo on one of her points. If you’re voting in this upcoming election, please don’t vote on personality or appearance or whether or not your favorite celebrity is voting for that candidate … first, take a look at all the issues, then make your decision.

With that said, I must discuss the latest movie I viewed - The Day After Tomorrow. If I only knew that movie was chocked full of propaganda against Bush, I would’ve never wasted my $7 on it! :stressed: Politics aside, the movie was still terrible. Not even halfway through the movie, I wanted to leave because I was so bored. The plot was lacking in all aspects. However, the special effects were excellent. I loved the tornadoes! I was disappointed to see that Sela Ward, a Chi Omega alumni from the University of Alabama, starred in that film. I thought southerners had more sense than that? (kidding.) Funny, I always thought that God would end the world? According to Tomorrow, looks like George Dubya is the antichrist bringing about the total destruction of the human race. Hmm, I guess I better pack my bags and head to Australia with everyone else!

Finally! A celebrity emerged from the political closet and admitted that she supported Bush. “I’m Irish Catholic, so a Democrat by blood, but I’m 100 percent for Bush. I want my president to be like my agent: not afraid of people, but wants my best interest.” said Lara Flynn Boyle from The Practice to US Weekly Issue 485 - May 31, 2004.

Sam posted a link to this article, which brings up some very good arguments against John Kerry. I recommend that you read it no matter what your political affiliation may be.

Ok, that’s quite enough politics for one day x_x Thanks to my commenters: Peter, Anne, Michelle, Christine, Jillian, tuan, Jem, lou, and Brigitte. Have a great afternoon!

Please vote for my basket at the Qbee… I’m #77!

My goodness, thank you! I felt like I was the only one in that packed theater sensing the anti-Bush sentiment… and the VP’s striking resemblance to Dick Cheney? Hmph. I’ll be sure to read through the article you posted. I’m relieved to know I’m not the only conservative on the web. :) Take care!

There’s a lot going on about the elections in American isn’t it??? Ofcourz I don’t know really the political difference between Bush and Kerry, but I just don’t like Bush. But that’s just a personal opinion.
Yesterday there were the elections for the Europe gouvernment, but the campaigns don’t start months before the real election, like in America

I liked Day After Tomorrow for the most part. Probably because I’m such a visual person and the effects were amazing. Could have done without the craptastic CGI wolves, though :grr:

I don’t think it was right to incorporate the personality traits of the current president/vice president into the characters portrayed in the movie. Politics should just be left out of the media.

But don’t you think that republicans spread propaganda just as much as those who oppose them? Listen to yourself. People should seriously weigh all the facts before becoming so hard-assed about what side they’re on.

I never said that Republicans didn’t spread propaganda.

I really don’t understand what you mean by your argument…
