I’ve seen a lot of cute sites about hamsters lately, namely Baruchito’s Homecage. I’ve decided that I’m going to buy myself a hamster. I’ve always wanted one, but I’ve heard they smell really bad… is this true? My apartment already stinks without any animals
Is there a lot of hard work involved in owning a hamster? If anyone knows, please let me know because I’m seriously thinking about purchasing one.
I did absolutely nothing this weekend except work on my story. When I start writing, you can’t stop me!
Will ventured home for the weekend, so it was just me and the fishies alone in T-Town. Last night, I realized that I didn’t have any cash; however, I was craving a McDonald’s #2 (which is the 2 Cheeseburgers Combo in Tuscaloosa, it’s different elsewhere). I paid for my meal… IN CHANGE! I was so embarassed. Thank goodness my parents love me and they sent me some money by William
Saturday afternoon, I signed up for a free account at Cinema Now and rented Kill Bill Vol. 1 online. My my, you don’t get much lazier than that… Blockbuster video is only a block away.
Thanks to whomever nominated me for the Random Bee-Ut award at the Qbee… I was thrilled when I discovered it in my Inbox this afternoon! Thanks also to everyone who commented on the new DoodleBlog navigation… it’s here to stay
Before I go, here’s two quick plugs: Sushibomb.Org has a cute layout featuring my favorite animal and Linze has a new layout featuring my worst fear… be sure to check ‘em out.

well… hamsters … they are said to smel… but i think that just happen if you don´t look after them properly. they need many cares and a clean cage, that´s all
i think that the real problem with hamster is that they bite… and sometimes they are stronger than you expect

You totally deserve that Q’bee award! I wonder who could have nominated you though?
Well done hon..
Loving your new navigation - makes it much easier to get around, and I daresay visitors will probably be more inclined to browse more too. Great move there!
One last thing.. thank you for the compliments on my Queen Eldritch skin, I’m glad you like it!

I use to have a teddy bear…until it died….but anyways my mom said that it smelled really bad but i guess i didn’t notice the smell because i love him. hehe I had to clean the cage about once a week (usually on the weekends) and it’s easy to feed because you could just put the seeds in the bowl and you wouldn’t have to feed your hamster everyday!. Also, just make sure the cage is clean too so it won’t smell as bad. I can’t remember if my hamster smelled terrbiel or what because that was a long time ago…

hamsters don’t smell THAT bad… and they don’t require a whole lot of matinence, you just gotta play with them a lot or else they don’t get used to you… and you have to clean the bedding every so often, and give them food and water. but that’s about it!

Aw, hamsters are cute! I don’t think they smell if you clean the cage at least once a week. And they aren’t that hard to take care of if you play with them a little everyday. If you get one I hope you have fun with it!

my friends had a hampster @ school and they went through about 5 dying ones
and when they died, and even while still alive, they stunk up the whole room. not a good pet for someone who is lazy, like a college student,
i wish i was designed for yelling. No Y’s in my name though

I have two guinea pigs, but I have to sell them…
If you clean the cage regularly it shouldn’t smell too much.
My room smelled like a barn, because of all the hay.
I think there’s more work in caring for a guinea pig, because they need attention every day. Hamsters are nocturnal, so they don’t need too much attention.

I’ve had three hamsters, and they only smell if you don’t clean their cages once a week or so.
Other than that it’s a matter of refilling the food dish and water bottle.
Personally, (though I may be biased) I think the syrian black hamsters are the cutest! They’re real jumpers and mine used to hiss at people.
I’ve never had any of them bite anyone before, though.

I had a guinea pig once, and I know they’re different, but care is fairly similar. Cleaning cages is a pain, and if you don’t do it once a week or so, it’ll really smell.
I’ve heard that hamster cages are worse to clean since they have all the tubes and stuff where things get stuck. But if you want one, go for it!
They are very cute

I’ve owned 7 hamsters in my day, 5 rabbits (one died yesterday), 6 cats, a rat and a guinea pig.(not all at once of course, i have a pig,1 baby bunny and 4 cats right now *as of yesterday*)
Hamsters are only smelly if you dont wash their cage. If you clean it totally once a week it should be fine.
Guinea pigs are the masters of stink. Their cages need to be cleaned about every second day, stinky little beast they are! But oh so adorable!
Bunnys are nice and clean, my bunny i had a little while ago was a TOTAL neat freak, put a peice of hay out of place and it was HOURS of cleaning ahead for shampoo, if she had nowhere to put something she would pile TONS of stuff into her mouth and just sit there with it all in her mouth she was sweet! She died last August though, horrible death that one, fluid in the lungs, her lungs spasmed and bunny screams are the saddest sound in the world!
So if you get a hammy be prepared, they only live 2years on average. One of mine lived 4, but thats it!
I reccommend a panda hamster, adorable!
OR a teddy bear hamster, so cute, so tiny!
But over all i reccommend bunnies. The only issues with bunnys is that they do EVERYTHING in their power to not show illness, you need to have a sharp eye, becasue If you see something is wrong with your bunny, it’s usually too late, and only have very little time left. Im not exagerating, if your bunny is starting to act sick, I’d give it 12-24 hours to live
It’s a sad truth, they are prone to tumors and things. Since their bodies are small problems spread quickly.
Same with hammies, though they show sickness sooner, but some vets wont work with tiny mince and hammies, so make sure your local vet will help you of your hammy needs medical attention before you get one!

Hamsters are well cute, especially the black ones as mentioned. Mine used to squawk at me to be out. caution though - I have two at the mo, one of them never smells, the other smells within 24 hours of being cleaned (and he’s cleaned 3 times a week). He stinks, and the room stinks with him. Beware!

I had a hamster a few months ago. I loved her to death. Unfortunately, I only had her for 9 days. She started having seizures and died that night. I actually found her picture while I was cleaning out my folders the other day. http://shell.sporkin-it.com/images/belle.jpg
They really aren’t much work. You need to clean their cage out once a week, feed them, and give them clean water each day. Other than that and playing with them, that’s all they need.
I want a new one…

How adorable is your site. I love it. I wanted a hamster for a while. I think you should get one. They’re sweet and easy to take care of. Way better than a fish. Good luck with the story.

It’s funny. You’ve been one of my dailies for quite sometime, and I’m too lazy to comment. LOL. Well, I’ll say something this time because I feel bad for just visiting without saying anything. First of all, I love all your skins! They’re amazing. I always switch them around every once in a while. Second of all, yeah, hamsters stink. I was supposed to work at a petstore, but I couldn’t stand the smell. LOL. Well, take care!

I think hamsters will stink if their cage aren’t cleaned regularly… but then again, that goes for all animals.
The layout here looks wonderful hon! Keep up the great work!
