I’m so excited!! I ordered the complete, uncut, original Japanese Sailormoon Season 1 and received it last night! I’ve only seen the crappy DiC dub of the first two seasons 
I popped the first disc in and started watching from the beginning. After getting a quarter of the way through the first episode, I thought to myself, “I’m not understanding what’s going on…”. I soon realized that there were no subtitles! (I was proud of myself, however, because I was following the Japanese pretty good 
) I started to panic, but then figured out how to turn on the subtitles.
Question: Should I be concerned if the set I ordered isn’t official? I ordered from a reputable seller on Amazon, but the box looks different from the box pictured. I planned on purchasing Sailormoon R this afternoon from the same seller, but I wanted to ask first.
For those of you awaiting the results of the Caption Challenge: I’m going to consult guest judges so that there won’t be any bias. I should have the results by the end of the next week

I know what you mean about being concerned about ordering unofficial stuffs. We just got some Naruto DVDs from E-Bay and it’s very obvious that they’re not official (although I have to give them kudos for doing a great job on putting the collection together). Then I realized that shouldn’t E-Bay (or Amazon, etc.) be keeping track of this? I’m kinda confused as well but anyway, me and hubby enjoyed our Naruto DVDs

It’s going to be difficult to find a place still selling the ADV produced sets. Those stopped being produced in 2004. Now no one except Toei has the rights to the anime so it can’t be produced. People have taken to copying their copies and reselling. As long as there’s nothing wrong with your copy (it plays okay, subtitles are timd correctly) you should be fine. You have to really play it careful with bootleg copies but people would rather have a good rep as a bootlegger than a bad one. Always try to find sellers that have a good rating and comment for the item you want to buy.

Haha oh you rock for getting Sailormoon and understanding some of the Japanese… not sure on the seller though. Covers always come out different. I’ve done that before on Ebay (dodgy as)

That happened to me, as well, with Sailormoon. I wouldn’t mind so much, if the quality weren’t so terrible. >.> The sound quality is atrocious, and the picture not much better… but I’m so used to really good sound quality, so it really disturbs me. I can’t buy Sailormoon R if the case really is that sellers have to copy the DVDs and make them of such poor quality - I’d drive myself crazy!
So now my dream of having those DVDs are gone. ;_; I’m keeping my fingers crossed that someday Toei will allow another company to distribute the uncut DVDs with better quality and a lower price, and then I shall buy them again. With the Stars season.

If they’re good quality then I wouldn’t be too worried. I buy a lot of asian movies off ebay, they’re incredibly cheap so I wonder if they’re bootlegs, but they come with proper covers and printed discs so its all good to me!

I used to love Sailormoon and I own Japanese, English and even Tagalog (Philippines) tapes and VHS! I love Sailormoon Sailorstars the best! but when I became a Christian, I gave them to my online friend ^^ hehe ^^

I REALLY LOVED SAILOR MOON. I Collected all the episodes, from Sailor Moon to Saior Moon Sailor Stars, and I LOVED IT. And i am very thankful to ABC 5 (TV Station, the responsible TV Staion aired all the seasons of Sailor Moon) here in Philippines.
I really loved the japanese and the tagalog version of Sailor Moon. Either, I don’t like the English Dubbed of Sailor Moon, I still loved this creation of Naoko Takeuchi. Well, one of my dream come true. I’ve got all the episodes of the Sailor Moon. And I think, the best is Sailor Moon Sailor Stars. And Yaten is very cute!
Sailor Moon rocks my world!

I bought the series from http://www.dvdpacific.com... I live in Australia so if you want to buy from them you will probably get it faster, and I say that you should buy them from actual businesses so that you know what you are getting and they do sell the original not the stupid dic version.

I bought a (pirated) anime DVD once, and it had most episodes in Chinese (which I understand), but there were a few Japanese episodes with Chinese subtitles (which I can’t read) scattered in there. I watched the Japanese episodes and tried to follow along at first, but got lost quite easily.

If they’re a registered amazon seller and display a different product to the one that they’re selling I think that counts as false advertisement/fraud. You should contact Amazon. If you’re that bothered about your goods being ‘official’ (I know I am - I want what I pay for).
I’ve never watched Sailor Moon but didn’t they change loads of it when it was released into the US because of homosexual relationships?

Sailor Moon was the first anime that I have watched. It was showed on TV but I didn’t have the time so I bought the manga instead, but sadly I never got to read the ending because it stopped publishing before I could buy the last few series!

i am so in
with sailor moon but i can’t find the DVDs anywhere…and as much as i love it in its original language….subtitles give me a headache and i end up trying to follow the words and miss the pictures…i need an english dub….or a website that will let me watch all the episodes in english…i found one that will let me watch them, including the sailor movies, in japanese but not english :grumpy:

Does anyone know where I can download or watch episodes 10-17 in the english series of the Sailor moon t.v. show? I’m trying to re-watch them all while I save up for the sets but I can’t find the episodes 10-17. I’ve watched 1-9 and have 18 and most of tyhe rest after 18 but really am trying to watch them in order. If you know can you please tell me the site? Thx.
