Books
Anyone read the book Children of Men? I’m reading it right now… it’s a great book. I decided to pick it up when I realized that a film adaption of it was to be made (starring Clive Owen
). I’ve never read a book before seeing its cinematic adaption, so I guess this will be my first disappointment. From what I’ve read about the film, it’s loosely following the storyline. I also think it’s going to lose a lot of its meaning. Oh well, I guess I’ll just have to wait and see.
Edit: Finished reading the book last night. The movie will be nothing like the book. I’m sure I’ll see the film and walk out cursing

Entertainment Personal
I’ve taken to writing again… I know, I’m all over the place when it comes to my hobbies. This time, though, I’m determined to finish my story. I’ve been working with this idea for too long to let it go to waste. I think I developed the story and most of the characters 10 years ago and it’s been evolving ever since. I may post a couple of excerpts from it on my livejournal so that I can make the entry friends only
I don’t want to release it to the public until its finished!
If you are a country music fan, check out I Loved Her First by Heartland. My friend Rachael’s dad wrote it about her… it’s really sweet

Books Personal
I spent last week with my family (and painfully slow DSL). Rather than updating my website, which is usually to what I devote my freetime, I began my summer reading. I’ve only recently realized how much fun reading can be! I guess I always attributed reading to something you were forced to do during the summer for school
The books I’ve finished reading:
The Rosetta Codex
Anthem
Books I’m currently reading:
Dies the Fire
Brave New World (Finished)
Memoirs of a Geisha
State of Fear
Books I want to read before the end of the summer:
Capitalism: The Unknown Ideal
The New Left: The Anti-Industrial Revolution
Atlas Shrugged
Screwtape Letters
Night
Adolf Hitler
The rest of the original Dune series
If you have any book suggestions, let me know. But keep in mind, I’d fall asleep reading a romantic comedy or something along those lines

Personal School
School is finally out! This semester wasn’t as much tough as it was annoying. I was doing really well in Calculus 2 until the very end. I had another class (Discrete Mathematics) that was just stupid (and the teacher wasn’t very good, either!) I’m excited though because I mapped out the remainder of my CS degree and realized that I will graduate next December (as opposed to next May). My friends told me that there would be flying cars when I graduated… I guess I proved them wrong
Although I’ll be finished with undergrad, I recently decided that I want to go to law school AND get my masters in CS. So, by the time I get out of school, cars just might be flying.
I’m taking ECE 383: Assembly Language and an LSAT prep course this summer, so that will take up a lot of my time. I will also be working on a couple of web projects and some research for one of my ECE professors. In terms of my personal web projects, I hope to release a new version of MyQuilt Admin and re-open my old clique, Perfection. Phew! Looks like I’m going to be quite busy. Maybe staying busy will help me lose the pounds I packed on this semester

Octopi Photos
Did you know that two species of octopus — coconut and algae — actually walk around on two arms?

Two octopus species can walk on just two arms, and they appear to use the other six arms to disguise themselves — either as rolling coconuts or clumps of floating algae… (More)
