I love the music playing in the background! And if you haven’t seen the leprechaun yet…
Thanks for stopping by! You have stumbled upon the personal website of Sidney Collins (aka Bubs). I'm a 24-year old student at the University of Alabama studying Computer Science and Mathematics. When I'm not busy programming you'll probably find me writing, drawing, reading, shopping, eating, or playing Monopoly.
School is getting hectic, so I won’t be around much until after finals. I know a lot of pictures in my blog are broken… I’ll take care of them soon. I’m also extending the deadline for the Caption Challenge because I’m low on cash
My 22nd birthday was last Wednesday… I’m getting so old. My friends threw me a birthday party last Friday… it was alot of fun, but quite crazy
I have a lot of photos to share, but I want to finish my gallery script before uploading them.
I have to finish studying for my Cal 2 test now
Have a great night.
I’m so excited because we’re leaving Friday night for Destin, Florida (Spring Break!) I’ve been looking forward to this vacation for 2 months now
In other random news, I bought a new aquarium for my bedroom:

I also cleaned my 10-gallon aquarium:

Aren’t they both just gorgeous?? I have 7 tetras in the 10-gallon and 2 goldfish in the 2-gallon. I love animals. I think I’m going to raise animals instead of kids…
And one last bit of info… I got laser hair removal over the weekend! It hurt and I cried like a baby (I’m not good with pain :hehe:) but it was worth it. I have 4 follow up visits, then the hair is gone forever! Just email me if you’d like more details
I started feeling under the weather this past Saturday. I was scared it was the flu because I had body aches, congestion, and a sore throat. Sunday, however, I felt a lot better. Monday was ok, but that night, it hit me again like a ton of bricks. This morning, I woke up with no voice! I’ve never lost my voice before, so it’s the weirdest thing ever. I cannot talk louder than a whisper.
The Mac is back. While in target disk mode, I burned the contents of my hard drive to CDs. Afterwards, I tried an Archive and Install. It didn’t work, so I had to erase my hard drive and start from scratch. I still don’t know what caused the malfunction. I see it happening again, though, because I’m still having some problems. I guess it may be a hardware issue after all.
Well, my less than a year old Powerbook crashed and I lost everything. So much for buying a new computer. Thanks a lot, Apple.
target disk mode saves the day! the hardware is ok, but the operating system is corrupted (I was on the phone with tech support for an hour this morning). i’ll post more details when i have a decent keyboard.
I recently held a contest at my webring, Oh My Cuteness, for the members to create new image codes. I’m so excited because I received a ton of beautiful submissions! Today, I chose the Grand Prize and Runner-Up:
Grand Prize: Anh -
Runner-Up: Janet -
If you have a cute site (that meets the requirements), then you should definitely join! Don’t worry about dead links in the ring because I check for them every night (with the aid of a script, of course … I’m not THAT much of a computer geek! ;))
My V-Day was great! Yesterday morning around 7am, Will surprised me with a teddy bear that is as big as me!

Later in the day, he brought me some tulips…

…and an itty bitty bear…

I was so excited because I’ve always wanted tulips (my favorite flowers) but never received any. Last night, Will and me ate at Cypress Inn (a local fancy restaurant) with Al and Liz
The grilled jumbo shrimp was amazing! I even had leftovers for lunch today.
I wanted to integrate my 404 page into my skins, but I needed it to be a .php file instead of .shtml (which is the default filetype I believe). So here’s how I did it.Open your existing .htaccess file. If you do not have one already, create a new file and save it as .htaccess. Add the following code to the file:
ErrorDocument 404 http://www.bubblessoc.net/404.php
You can change 404.php to anything you want. It can be error.php or mysiterox.php. And of course, you use your URL instead of mine
I’ve also integrated custom 404 pages for my subdomains as well using the same method. This is useful if you have hostees who want their own error pages. Just make an .htaccess file for each of your subdomains. Otherwise, the root .htaccess will take precedence.
If you want to display the name of the page that issued a 404 use:
<?= $_SERVER['REQUEST_URI'] ?>
Pretty nifty I think.
