When I arrived in my hometown yesterday, I was pleasantly surprised to find that my street sign was up! My dad named a street after me
The sign was originally misspelled (Sydney instead of Sidney), but apparently the city realized the mistake and corrected it.
My birthday weekend was great. I love seeing my friends. Although they only live 45 minutes from Tuscaloosa, it’s still hard to get together. William used to live with Andy (future lawyer) and Alan (future dentist) so they are like brothers to me. We used to play some intense Halo games
In web related news, I’ve completed the Website page and I’m working on the Exits. I’m rewriting most of the content, so it’s a tedious process. When I finish all the content pages, I think I’m going to try my hand at Wordpress themes

Aw, I wish there is a street named after me. Great job on the new About page. I love the scroll, and congrats on getting featured.

Wow, that’s neat! What is the job of your dad (that allowed him to name a street after you)?

Hehe, a new member to the club! My parents were the first people to move onto our road decades ago (this is way out in the country), so it was named after our last name.

While you have the luxury of having a street named after you, I have a company named after me. “Jordan Construction Company,” happens to be my dad’s business. *love*
Though I can still cheat and pretend like the Jordan street signs I see around towns were named for me..

Oh cool
If you see a Tracy Street could you please take a picture and send it to me?
Nothing, absolutely NOTHING here in Germany says Tracy. Not even Tracy Stickers
(therefor, when I’m in the States I go crazy and buy all kind of Tracy stuff - stupid
)

That is SO cool…how did your dad manage that? There is actually a Meredith Road not too far from me.

Had to chuckle at this. There’s a city about 25 miles east of here, and there’s a road there that’s the same as my (legal) last name (named for my paternal grandfather’s brother, who was the first person to settle there). As the years have gone by, more and more people have asked, when they see my last name, “Oh, are you related to the so-n-so’s in Boonieville?” I’m always so tempted to say, “No”, but I don’t. So when I admit that I am, I guess something mildly exasperated in my voice leads them to comment about it, to which I have to reply, “Well, that’s my dad’s side of the family, and we’ve never really had a lot to do with that particular branch, because they’re arrogant snobs.” The funny thing is that most people respond to that with a chuckle and a “There’s a branch in every family like that”; but I occasionally get a “I’m so glad you said that! I wasn’t going to say anything, but they ARE!”
LOL
