I’m watching a documentary on the octopus — my favorite animal. Did you know that an octopus will unscrew the lid of a jar to get to the contents? The documentary stated that octopuses may be as intelligent as dogs.
Someday, I’m going to get one as a pet. Last December, I met a guy at a restaurant who had an awesome octopus tattoo. After I inquired about his tattoo, he told me that he had an octopus as a pet. He special-ordered it from Petco for $150. I don’t remember what size aquarium he kept it in, but I’m thinking it was a 30-gallon. I actually have a vacant 30-gallon aquarium

I like octopuses, those are amazing animals! But ew - I just remembered what I dreamed last night - it was really disgusting. My mom and I were going on some sort of trip where we’d meet my boss, and my mom was making food, and she said she called my boss and asked him what he wanted and he wanted calamari, so she was cooking that stuff in the kitchen in a pan. I was so outraged and disgusted by that…
I know that the Addams Family had one as a pet, hehe
It’s probably possible if you have the right connections and a really big tank with lots of underwater plants and stuff like that..

I have a 30 gallon tank! An octopus would have to be really small to fit in it though…

Are octopuses manageable pets? I mean, I like pets and all, but I don’t think I’d be able to handle the responsibility of one.
But, you should definitely go for it, since we all associate you with octopuses anyway.

Wow, I would never imagine someone could have an octopus as a pet. I mean, those things can get huge! I guess there are smaller sized octopi out there? Still, it’d be very interesting to have one as a pet.

an octopus as a pet would be awesome. I want a pet lobster but my roommate won’t allow it. I actually tried to bring one home once but i ended up having to take it back when they freaked out *sniffs*
Octopus’ are smart, I remember watching a video clip on some channel way back in the day of one unscrewing a jar. It was very odd but neat at the same time.
And hey, $150 isn’t a bad price. Cheaper than a chinchilla though I have the feeling the cleaning will be a little more difficult for ya
P.S. you’ve been tagged, view comotized for more info!

Sweet! An octopus! I can imagine one crawling out of the tank and waving with its tentacles. What am I saying?!!
It took me, what I would call, an eternity to get here. I think it’s my network or ISP and my cousin confirmed that my ISP had problems lately. Sorry for the trouble Bubs!

Apparently pigs might be more intelligent than dogs.

I’d love to have an Octopus someday. We have a freshwater tank, about an 80 gallon and my hubby told me that if I maintained it perfectly and kept my ‘expensive’ fish alive that he would buy me this 150 gallon tank I want so much and let me have a saltwater tank. And I’ve done just that and he’s dallying it up! My plans… seahorses and Octopi!!! Yeah buddy!
