Apparently, an outbreak of some sort occurred in my aquarium. First, Pinky died. She lived for 4 years, so I knew it was coming. The following day, I woke up to find Blue dead and Big Fins acting strangely. Upon closer inspection I noticed that Big Fins’ fins looked as though they had rotted! 
I performed an emergency tank clean and quarantined Big Fins. I also treated the clean tank with a medical solution. The 4 remaining fish seem to be doing ok, but Big Fins is struggling. He now has open sores all over his body 
I almost want to just put him out of his misery.
Edit: Big Fins died 
It was for the best, though.

Awww!!!! noooooooooooooo……. Euthanasia?? Don’t just flush, put him in alcohol first if you do — instant death, no pain, no swimming around in your septic tank.
I have a group of fish that I’ve had for 1 year now, but they’re pretty hardy at this point. I find that not feeding them every day seems to work well– seriously, they go without food in the wild for days at a time.
Anyways, yeah, I’m a fish geek too.

My betta fish got a fin fungus on her and I did everything imaginable to make her better: tank change, medication, the whole nine yeards. Nothing worked.
It’s so hard to make fish better once they’re sick.
I hope your fish gets better and that none of the other ones get sick.

Oh, gee that’s awful. Fish are hard to care for once they get sick. Hopefully, Big Fins will recover. Even if things don’t sound good for him right now…
It’s just awful when pets get sick…

I know how you feel, my long-time fishie of almost three years died just last year. I was really sad.

hmm, does he have any white spots on him? If so grab a bottle of ick medicine from the nearest pet shop a.s.a.p
Also try to think about anything new you might have added to the tank such as plants, rocks, etc. Sometimes they come contaminated, I’ve lost many a fishie due to that
I’m sorry your fish died, hopefully the quarentined one makes it *crosses her fingers*

Wow. I know how it feels to loose fish from an outbreak. I originally had 5 fish, and within a week 3 of them died! Wierd thing is the body of one of them just dissapeared!! No where to be seen.

Fist time commenting here, i was really afraid of my bad english, so if i write something too strange nevermind.
i had a fish too. His name was Sushi( not a good name for a fish).
he got sick, the fin falled and then died too, so sad.
but hope our fishes are havin fun together somehere.

Oh no, poor fishy. I have had that happen before and my whole tank of sweet fishy pass away. There can be some nasty bugs sometimes.
