Hi I'm Bubs, welcome to my home on the web!

Thanks for stopping by! You have stumbled upon the personal website of Sidney Collins (aka Bubs). I'm a 24-year old student at the University of Alabama studying Computer Science and Mathematics. When I'm not busy programming you'll probably find me writing, drawing, reading, shopping, eating, or playing Monopoly.

My Wonderful Voice

In case you’re interested in hearing me speak, I recorded my voice for a topic at Snark. Be forewarned: it’s quite nasally and southern O_o Maybe I’ll create some audio blogs in the future? We’ll see.

I can’t wait to hear! I’m at work right now, and they block a lot of audio. :P I’ll have to listen when I get home. :D

I’ve been thinking about posting a video of myself using my web cam… not sure if I will though. I’m nervous!!

Hehehe I like how you say Birmingham and Buckingham. People actually from Birmingham say it reeeeeally weirdly. I can’t quite think of a vowel sound to describe it, but the first i is probably closest to an elongated ö, and it trails up in pitch at the end. I don’t say it weirdly (I don’t think) but I don’t pronounce the ‘ham’ at the end like the meat ham, I pronounce it like hm. Birminghm, Buckinghm, and nothing is elongated and it keeps pretty constant pitch :P I’m Southern English which is VERY different from the Northern English and Brummy accents. My accent is your stereotypical posh English accent and I swear it must make Americans laugh (and even Northerners make fun) when I speak because everything I say sounds so formal and serious :P

Awe Bubs! You sound sooooo cute!! I’m from western canada so i get teased a lot on how i pronounce stuff. Or well, I used to. Since I’ve worked phone support for a certain america cell phone company, I’ve learned to tone down my canadian isms (since some americans freak if they realize you’re not in the us, shh! dont tell anyone!)

@ash: you should do it! i bet it’d be adorable!

I may have to make a video this weekend. :D

@Christine: My husband is from Canada, but a lot of my Western Hillbilly Kentucky-ness has rubbed off on him I think. :D

I STILL haven’t gotten to listen to Bub’s voice yet. I have been so busy. I’ll have to listen to it today for sure!!
