I’m always terribly grumpy on the last day of a Florida vacation. Additionally, I was pouting because William forgot to purchase a promised purple Maneki Neko for me from a local giftshop (my birthday is this weekend and Nekos are hard to find.) My BFF Rachael ousted me from my mood by introducing me to a squirrel she met while packing the car.
She said he came right up to her, so she fed him some peanuts. I wish I had a video of him burying the nuts in the nearby landscaping. He’d pat the pine needles with his tiny hands… it was adorable! I’ve never interacted with a wild animal. I felt like a Disney Princess

Hahaha aww! That’s so CUTE! I remember seeing squirrels when I was in Japan, they were awesome, I wish we had them here in NZ!

Beautiful. I love squirrels (well, all the animals for that matter). I used to have 4 squirrels as pets when I was 7, but my father (who was a veterinarian) decided it’s best to release them back to the wild.
I remember one of them (a male) was really tame and used to jump on my arm when I call his name.

I did not even know you could get that close to a squirrel. well, I could not but that is just because I am deadly afraid of all wild animals. especially the fast ones.. like squirrels!

I’ve been reading along on your blog for a while now, and just now decided to comment. I’ve always wanted to hand feed a squirrel (there are a lot that live in the woods behind my house), but I’ve always been too afraid to try because I’m afraid they’ll attack me. That is adorable, though! And happy birthday!

About a month or so ago I took a photo of a squirrel when I was doing my regular walks. I wasn’t able to get as close to it as you did, though. The squirrel is really cute.

I went fishing once and there was this little squirrel that kept running back and forth. I kept feeding it bread and sweetcorn and it was so tame! It came over and sat on my dad’s fishing net.
Well I think that squirrel that you saw is so much cuter, haha!
I actually get sad on the last day of my holiday. Just thinking about going back to England… the cold, damp weather.

*gasps* no interaction with wild animals? I couldn’t live. I’m always catching, petting or saving something.
Yesterday it was a gartner snake that boboe thought was a play toy.
That squirrel is fabulous, I totally would have adopted him!
