No, I’m not getting married, but I did get a new puppy

Her name is Pixie, she’s a purebread Maltese and she’ll be 4 months old on the 6th of December. I will add more details later, but right now I’m going to bed. I didn’t want to leave anyone hanging any longer

So much for the cold weather! I’ve worn my new sandals every day this week It’s kind of cold today since it’s raining. I hate rainy days because I have the hardest time waking up in the morning. I had planned to wake up at 6:30 am and get a shower, but I ended up sleeping until 8:15

Andy picked up his copy of Halo 2 at midnight Monday/Tuesday. I beat the entire campaign in ONE day The ending is somewhat disappointing, but the campaign itself is a lot of fun. The AI characters are much smarter and you can interact with the boards. I won’t spoil it for anyone I don’t care much for the multiplayer, but I guess I’ll just have to get used to it. Will and I are debating whether or not to buy a copy for ourselves.

I’ve been helping my friends with their Intro to Webdesign projects, which has put me in the mood to make a new layout. I started to work on one yesterday, but I doubt that I’ll finish it anytime soon.

Note to everyone: NEVER rent Titus – it’s the dumbest movie ever.

Right now, I’m in the computer lab working on my first Computer Science project of the year: (Can you tell that I’ve been <blockquote> happy lately? )

Design and implement a Visual C++ .NET program that accepts 7 letters separated by spaces and displays a numeric telephone number. Assume all lower case letters. Letters should generate numbers based on this image of a phone. No ones or zeros will be output since there is no letter assigned to either of these keys. Input will be lower case letters only. Only legal input will be used. It won’t be necessary to check for proper case. After reading one 7 character phone number the program should terminate. You don’t need a loop to process additional phone numbers.

Prompt the user to enter seven letters separated by spaces. Then print the corresponding telephone number. A properly formatted phone number has a dash between the 3rd and 4th numbers.

I’ve finished most of it, but there’s a couple of things that I’m having trouble with. It’s not due until Friday morning, so I have time to discuss them with my professor. Y’all should be proud of me… I’m actually not procrastinating for once! If only I could keep up with my Calculus homework better…

Will’s family heard from their condo — little to no damage! They were very lucky. The owners even expect to begin renting out the rooms again in two weeks. I guess our Spring Break plans are still on.

I’m still obsessed with Scrabble. ‘Z’, ‘X’, and ‘Q’ word suggestions are welcomed. I’ve beaten Andy the last two times we’ve played… even after he bingoed! Wish me luck for the third time.

Thanks everyone for the guinea pig advice… I need all the help I can get! Coco seems to like the new bedding and alfalfa that I bought for her this afternoon. I’ve yet to determine if she likes her Kritter Krawler or not. When I place her inside, she justs sits down rather than running around.

I’ve had Coco for about a month, shouldn’t she be warming up to me by now or does it take more time? When I try to pick her up, she’s runs away squealing, avoiding my hand. When I place her in my lap, she tries her best to get out. She doesn’t like to be petted… she just enjoys running around and hiding from me Is this normal? More advice would be greatly appreciated.

I recently had to change the bedding in Coco’s cage due to the smell. I didn’t have any pine bedding, so I filled the cage with small animal litter instead. Apparently, Coco hates the litter because she always cries to be let out. Being the compassionate owner that I am, I’ve been letting her run around the apartment rather than making her stay in her cage. This morning, I heard her gnawing on something, so I got down in the floor to check it out:

She chewed completely through the cord! I have no idea how she didn’t get electrocuted. I told her that she’d never see the apartment floor again Now, I have to find a new adapter for my cordless phone charging bay.

Saturday was wonderful! William and I celebrated our two-year anniversary We drove to Birmingham, AL to eat at a Japanese restaurant called Stix, which was excellent. We both ordered steak & chicken. I love Japanese food! Next time, we’re ordering sushi as well. I told William since we eat Japanese food so often, we have to learn to use the chopsticks… that’s my new goal.

I would like everyone to meet my new pet guinea pig, CoCo She was my other anniversary surprise from William. I wanted a kitten, but I can’t afford one right now. The pet deposit at my apartment is $300 plus $10 added to the rent each month I decided to get a cavy (guinea pig) instead of a hamster or a ferret because the people at the pet shop told me that cavies smell much better. CoCo is very loving; however, she is quite skittish. We’re still trying to adjust to one another.

Friday, Will got out my Super Nintendo and we played Mortal Kombat 2 all afternoon. On our way to dinner, we spotted a baby raccoon!

I managed to chase him across the road to a closed gas station. There were some woods behind the gas station, so I figured he would find his way inside. Meanwhile, I returned to my apartment and grabbed my camera so that I could snap a picture to show my readers When I returned to the station, the baby raccoon was rumaging for food near the trees. After I took a photograph, I chased him into the woods. He was so cute! I wanted to take him home with me, but I figured he wouldn’t like that too much

I wrote my first C++ program yesterday! Watch out Bill Gates, here I come My first Calculus test is this Wednesday… that should be exciting. In other news, I’m changing my second major to Computer Engineering since the required courses are practically the same as those required for Computer Science (my first major). My goal is to build my own computer before I graduate My college is supposed to have an excellent engineering program, so I have high hopes.

Mmmm… cute + yummy octopus cupcakes… they match my new skin!

My crab is quite the escape artist! Today, I found him behind the aquarium. He’s also very skittish. Whenever I walk into the kitchen, he runs inside the octopus decoration and hides. The aquarium temporarily sits in the kitchen beside the sink. Last week, I heard a thud during the night. When I got up to get a glass of water, I found my crab inside the sink, on the edge of the drain! I’m glad that I saved him before he fell inside. Now, I have to keep the plugs over the drain just in case my adventurous crab decides to go exploring
