The release of the new Bond theme, Another Way to Die, inspired me to rank my top 5 Bond songs:
- Live and Let Die by Paul McCartney & Wings
- A View to a Kill by Duran Duran
- Diamonds Are Forever by Shirley Bassey
- The Man With the Golden Gun by Lulu
- Nobody Does It Better by Carly Simon
And since we’re on the subject, here are my favorite opening titles:

- Honey Ryder (Ursula Andress) Dr. No
- Fiona Volpe (Luciana Paluzzi) Thunderball
- Solitaire (Jane Seymour) Live And Let Die
- Xenia Onatopp (Famke Janssen) Goldeneye
- Solange (Caterina Murino) Casino Royale
- Domino Derval (Claudine Auger) Thunderball
Coolest villains:
- Elektra King – the first female main villain
- Boris Grishenko – who DOESN’T love Boris
- Emilio Largo – pure evil… he even tortures his girlfriend!
- Bambi and Thumper – I loved their gymnastics-filled fight with Bond
- Fiona Volpe – she’s probably my favorite character from all of the films
- Alec Trevelyan – I especially liked his connection to Bond
- Franz Sanchez – a somewhat believable villain

I love Shirley Bassey’s “Diamonds Are Forever”. I haven’t seen a lot of Bond films and the only one I really remember is Casino Royale.

I love all the old ones up until they started in on a blonde bond. I haven’t seen that one yet. I am sorry, but I just can not see bond as being blonde.

Wow, you really know your Bond. I’m impressed. I personally didn’t like Casino Royal adn I’m ashamed I haven’t seen any Bond-movies made befoer Brosnan became Bond. I’ll need to work on that.

Ooh, James Bond! I actually saw my very first James Bond movie a few weeks ago. It was one of the Gold ones. Goldfinger or Golden Eye or something like that. It was really silly but I honestly and truthfully enjoyed it.
I do love the music of all of them, though. Simply fantastic.

Interesting list. I can honestly tell you that I have never heard of those songs before, probably because I have never seen a JAmes Bond movie! Haha.

Oh I’m totally a Bond fan! I have my mom to thank for that one. She got this book awhile back which was the complete guide to James Bond, and it has everything you ever wanted to know about the characters, movies, gadgets, cars, etc. in it!
I also got the album “The Essential James Bond” which is all the theme songs performed by the City of Prague Philharmonic Orchestra. I love love LOVE it!
