The charger has caught on fire? Twice?? Good gravy! I've got a Powerbook myself and haven't had any trouble with it. My discrete math professor and I have talked, though, about how he keeps having trouble with his new Intel-based Macbook. *shrug*

You really don’t have computer luck. I’ve never really had computer problems before. My old laptop got slow sometimes, but always started and worked. My new MacBook is doing great, but it’s only four months old.

I didn’t know you were a Mac person. Always cool to find another.

I can’t use old stuff because I end up destroying them, like my 8-year-old phone’s charger. I don’t know how I did it, but the rubber layer around it is tearing apart, and my dad is after me because he’s using it too.

I’m waiting for a laptop… ooh I so want one!

I’m thinking we need to keep you away from all computers at this point. I get so crazy about my laptop that I have to watch every single person who uses it the entire time they’re on. I have to make sure they don’t do anything that might harm it.

My first laptop’s power cord eventually became so loose that I couldn’t move it for fear of it unplugging. And, the battery was dead (almost another $200 if I wanted a new one). So, I was confined for a couple of years to sitting at my desk for endless hours, as opposed to comfortably on my bed like I am right now.

Reinstalling all the programs is a pain! It’s a good thing you’ve got a backup though.

I think I’m starting to become an Apple fanboy myself. Ever since I started using QuarkXpress on the Macs in our Digital Resource Lab on campus, I’ve fallen completely in love with the entire interface.

Anyway, I hope your Powerbook situation works out.

Holy sh**. You post is quite amusing (allthough I feel you girl, for losing all your PCs and laptop) – so they’re female? Do they have names? I think I named mine once but I forgot…

I used to play “Larry” and “Comics” (I think that’s what it was called) on my dad’s MS DOS PC. Fun times

My PC is a little crazy too though. The video card will not always work, the keyboard didn’T work last week so I got a new one and now sometimes the mouse decides to just not work. Very annoying… I hope I can buy that Mac soon.

I’ve honestly lucked out with the computer I’ve had right now. Last year I managed to have my hard drive start to die on me and a few months after that my graphics card (but I think that was a blessing, I haven’t played WoW or CS:S since then); One day I booted up my pc after I got home from work, and had massive amounts of CRC errors on everything I tried to execute. It was painful since I was nearly broke, needed the internet, and had no way of saving anything.

I was working at Best Buy, and literally a few days prior they stopped using their personal copies of Windows to reinstall; So I somehow lucked out and was able to download a copy, buy a hard drive and get it up and running. Still lost most of my data that was corrupted, though I got about 60% of it. Didn’t care too much about the music, since the iPod had it.

All I know is that now I make sure to backup some of my important documents online, as well as having an external drive that I keep locked in a fire proof safe. =P

I feel your pain. I actually have an external hard drive that went kabloo-y last year…that I still haven’t been able to get stuff off of and I’m not paying thousands of dollars to recover it all. Grrr!

I hope everything ends up ok with your Mac! I’ve actually been hearing some wonky things about Mac’s lately from friends who have them…interesting, but I still want one. ^_^

Aww, sorry about your Powerbook! You’re lucky to have your stuff backed up… I just lost 4 months’ worth of stuff due to a hard drive failure… =(

I’ve had bad luck with computers also!! My computer just died a month ago, and now my hard drive just died a few days ago…

You’re not the only one cursed with computers… *sigh*…
