There's a city about 25 miles east of here, and there's a road there that's the same as my (legal) last name (named for my paternal grandfather's brother, who was the first person to settle there). As the years have gone by, more and more people have asked, when they see my last name, "Oh, are you related to the so-n-so's in Boonieville?" I'm always so tempted to say, "No", but I don't. So when I admit that I am, I guess something mildly exasperated in my voice leads them to comment about it, to which I have to reply, "Well, that's my dad's side of the family, and we've never really had a lot to do with that particular branch, because they're arrogant snobs." The funny thing is that most people respond to that with a chuckle and a "There's a branch in every family like that"; but I occasionally get a "I'm so glad <strong>you</strong> said that! I wasn't going to say anything, but they ARE!" LOL Had to chuckle at this.
