Dec 12
I’m still recovering from the removal of 2 wisdom teeth and nose, sinus, chin and jaw surgery, which I had last Thursday (December 6). Please forgive my absence from the net for the next week or two. The aftermath is a lot more painful than I expected. I can’t eat anything but soup and ice cream, so I’m starving to death. I’d give anything for a McDonald’s cheeseburger right now
Here’s a photo from the day following my surgery. You can see how swelled I am, although quite a bit of the swelling has subsided by now. This afternoon, my doctor removed the splint from my nose.
I have some nice before/after pics to post, but my scanner isn’t cooperating at the moment Here ya go!
Miscellaneous Updates
To my international pen pals — expect your cards, but probably not by Christmas
I’m going to try and participate in the Qbee Ornament activity if I can. I’ll email you my ornament if I complete one.
Thanks for the support everyone! I hope to get back on track with my net lurkings ASAP

Poor thing! My Dad had to have similar surgery about 10 years ago (he couldn’t breathe out of one side of his nose after breaking it as a kid) and he looked totally beat up for weeks. Oh, and they were like, “What ever you do … don’t cry!” so he was like, “Pills … forever!” and then sat on the couch staring off o___O
I hope you’re well in time for xmas! Hugs!

I was wondering when you’re having that op done. It looks horrible! Ouch! I thought you’d only get a jaw OP? Oh my – and the teeth too. Ouch!
The guy on the right on the picture (not your lover) looks like Kerr Smith (I think that’s his name) – from Dawson’s Creek
Well, get well soon baby and enjoy the first bite of your cheeseburger

Hi Bubs! Get well soon. Recovery is such a bit*h! Hang in there. When I had mouth surgery I did eat anything at all either for weeks. I did enjoy some soft Bob Evan’s Pancakes though.
I hope you got my Christmas package ok, I wanted to remind you to open the little pouch there is a surprise for you inside!
*hugs*

I know I haven’t been around much either, sorry. Did you get that postcard i sent you a while ago (in the summer, wow, longer ago than I thought
)? I’m going to send you a Christmas card ofc – your address is still the same, right?
Congratulations, I suppose, on your surgery
good luck with recovery. Now why would you want to exchange your diet of ice cream for an icky cheeseburger I wonder? >_<;

Hey Bubs, I don’t comment much but just wanted you to know I’m thinking about you and hoping your recovery goes well. The first couple of days after I got my wisdom teeth out were really trying, so I’m sure having additional surgery on top of that would make it even harder. I couldn’t even look at butterscotch pudding afterward without feeling gross.
Take it easy and don’t overdo things!

I saw your pictures on Flickr the other day. I didn’t realize you were already having your surgery! I hope you get to feeling better soon. I need to have my wisdom teeth taken out sometime in the future….
I LOVE McDonald’s cheeseburgers, and the next time I am there, I will eat one for you.
Oh, and I’m a bad penpal.
I am behind on some letters and cards I need to send. Expect something from me. I hope I can get to the post office tomorrow!

That’s a lot of work on the head! From your picture it looks as though you broke your neck or something
Haha Cheeseburgers… think of recovering from surgery as a diet from that yummy-tasting crap.
Hopefully you’re better off by Christmas time. If not, at least you have more time to just relax
Wishing you a successful and speedy recovery!

Congratulations Bubs – As soon as the pain is gone you can be relieved that it’s over with. I am very happy for you. Also I wish you a speed recovery.

Although a constant diet of ice cream sounds appealing, the initial process sure isn’t.
Get well soon though, in time for Christmas I hope?

You poor thing, Bubs. Just keep thinking about being about to breathe through your nose and getting a good nights sleep. Maybe that will help you get through the pain.
Pulling your wisdom teeth is very painful. I remember when my mother had hers pulled. She couldn’t eat solid food for three weeks, but then it settled down & she could eat again.

Hey Bubs, I knew you had surgery but I didn’t really know anything about it until I actually came on here and read about it. I haven’t been through anything remotely similar to what you’re going through so I have no advice. But I do hope you feel better and are able to get that McDonald’s soon. You’re in my thoughts this Christmas.

Don’t give in to that cheeseburger, no matter how bad you want it, until you’re healed! I had spaghetti the night I had my wisdom teeth out, and I regretted that for many hours, very very much. I was in heinous pain for a month at least. But some people I know were a-ok within a week or two. So you never know how long it’ll last. If you had more than just the wisdom teeth though, I imagine it might take awihle. I hope you got good meds!
And who are those darling fellows at your bedside? I think if I had them around, I’d be feeling pretty good in no time!

Wow. It looks painful. I only had one wisdom tooth (I almost said Christmas tooth o.O) removed so far but I shall probably need to go back again soon to have another removed. Hopefully you shall be able to eat that cheeseburger again soon.
Anyway, I’d like to wish you a Merry Christmas and hopefully you will have a good time!
