Blake had a close call tonight! I guess we really don’t know if he were in the bottom 2, but I was still nervous. Chris Richardson was a fan favorite, but Blake’s performance last night was out of this world! Like I said in a previous post, I detest reality television. The only reason I started watching American Idol is because of my dad (he loves the band.)

Well, sort of. None of the content pages are up yet. You’ll probably notice bugs in the layout, such as irregularities between browsers… I’ll work those out asap. I felt like I needed to get something up because I miss blogging so much!
I have a lot of catching up to do, but first, I want to thank those who exchanged Christmas cards with me…

I’m striving to make my blog interesting again
The Black Dahlia
If you like crime dramas, this is a must see! Filled to the brim with twists and turns, I was on the edge of my seat the entire time. The weak-stomached might want to keep their distance, though. Dahlia definitely had its share of gore, but that’s because the actual crime was brutal. (Read more about the true Dahlia story). The real crime remains unsolved, but the film has closure… and the climax will shock you!
7 out of 10 stars.

I’m trying my best to come up with a new design for BubblesSOC, but haven’t had any luck thus far
My baby, Perfection, now resides at per.fectio.net … catchy, huh? I have to thank Jem and Versteckt for the idea.
I bought Animal Crossing for Nintendo DS! It’s my favorite DS game so far
If you’re interested in playing with me, please email me or leave a comment.
Edit: I just bought a turtle! Actually, I ordered him. He’ll be arriving on Thursday
I named him Sparticus after my friend Andy’s gamertag. In my strange world, all of my friends have animal names. Andy’s animal was a turtle, therefore, my turtle inherited his name. Make sense? Probably not. My best friend Rach says that I’m going to be the crazy lady with lots of cats one day. I believe her. I would buy a cat now, but I’d have to pay a $300 fee for a cat in my apartment
Ok, now here’s Bubs’ Animal Census:
1 guinea pig – Coco
1 maltese pup – Pixie
2 parakeets – Bit & Byte
6 fish
1 turtle – Sparticus

Entertainment Show & Tell

Someone blogged about a new game starring Princess Peach for Nintendo DS. I thought it looked like a fun game, so I bought a Nintendo DS Lite tonight. I haven’t wanted one, but I’m just the most impulsive person you’ll ever meet. I mean, it wasn’t as expensive as I thought it would be and I just got paid, so why not? It’s totally logical
I’m glad I got it, though. It’s a lot of fun! If you want to race me in Mario Kart, let me know and we’ll play online as soon as I figure it out.
My next impulsive purchase will be this:

I found this one on eBay, but the price seems a bit high. Does anyone know a store that carries it? The eBay auction says that its super rare, and I think I believe them.

Anyone read the book Children of Men? I’m reading it right now… it’s a great book. I decided to pick it up when I realized that a film adaption of it was to be made (starring Clive Owen
). I’ve never read a book before seeing its cinematic adaption, so I guess this will be my first disappointment. From what I’ve read about the film, it’s loosely following the storyline. I also think it’s going to lose a lot of its meaning. Oh well, I guess I’ll just have to wait and see.
Edit: Finished reading the book last night. The movie will be nothing like the book. I’m sure I’ll see the film and walk out cursing

I spent last week with my family (and painfully slow DSL). Rather than updating my website, which is usually to what I devote my freetime, I began my summer reading. I’ve only recently realized how much fun reading can be! I guess I always attributed reading to something you were forced to do during the summer for school
The books I’ve finished reading:
The Rosetta Codex
Anthem
Books I’m currently reading:
Dies the Fire
Brave New World (Finished)
Memoirs of a Geisha
State of Fear
Books I want to read before the end of the summer:
Atlas Shrugged
Screwtape Letters
Night
The rest of the original Dune series
If you have any book suggestions, let me know. But keep in mind, I’d fall asleep reading a romantic comedy or something along those lines

After seeing Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire in theaters, I bought the Order of the Phoenix and began reading. I just finished the book last weekend.
Why did Sirius have to die??? He was the reason I got obsessed with Harry Potter in the first place
I’ll have to wait until after finals to start reading the Half-Blood Prince.
Will and I are going to see Lion, Witch, and the Wardrobe tonight. I hope it’s good!
