Sorry it took so long to publish the details I only had 2 days of class last week but my teachers still managed to schedule 2 exams and a project. The rest of the week I was busy showing off the ring to Will’s massive family and gaining 5 pounds (literally) from Thanksgiving dinners within hours of each other Anyways…

How It Happened

I knew it was coming. Not only have Will and I been dating for 6 years but also Will made the mistake of telling me the ring was ready I didn’t know the exact day, however.

Saturday night (Nov. 22nd) Will took me to a fancy local restaurant for dinner. After eating we went back to his place.  As usual, both of us immediately picked up our computers.  A few minutes later Will told me to check my Facebook wall.  He had posted a link to ilovesidney.net — a domain he purchased for his proposal He then kneeled and presented me with my beautiful ring.  My best friend said that “he knew the key to my heart was through the computer.”  I answered “yes”, hugged and kissed him, then instructed him to hire a better webdesigner

About the Ring

William had it custom made for me based on a design I picked out a few years ago.  It’s GIA certified with a laser inscription (you can see it inside the stone under magnification!) Our jeweler Nick works solely from referrals, so if you’re looking for amazing diamonds at a great price I strongly recommend his services!

Other Details

We’re having the ceremony on the beach in Destin, Florida. I had my heart set on May 16th, but many sites are already booked so we may have to push the wedding to June or August.  I hope to meet the wedding coordinator and set a concrete date within the next 3 weeks (which means a trip to the beach soon!) I’m converting ilovesidney.net into our wedding website. I’ve already started brainstorming designs. My semester ends next Friday so I will be keeping everyone informed of the details!

I have Physics Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 12:30-2:30pm.  On Tuesdays and Thursdays we meet from 12:30 to 4:30 because of lab   When I get home I have tons of homework.  By evening, I’m exhausted so I really don’t have much time for online life I did manage to make an A in the first half of the course, though

Don’t tell anyone, but Will and I are looking at engagement rings.  Scratch that — I’m dragging Will with me to look at rings and threatening his life if he doesn’t propose by September (we’ve been dating 6 years for crying out loud!)  Why September? He’s leaving to work in Atlanta, GA until May and I will be left in Tuscaloosa all alone.  Also, we’ve already decided that we want to get married in May or June (preferably May) 2009.  I’ll be graduating in May 2009 and (hopefully) starting grad school in the Fall.  William will be returning from Atlanta and (hopefully) starting law school in the Fall.  The summer is the perfect time for marriage and honeymoon! Nevermind.

I need to go study for my Physics exam.  I promise I won’t wait 4 months to blog again

This will be our 5th Valentine’s Day together! My gift to him will be dinner at our favorite sushi restaurant this weekend. We couldn’t go out tonight because I have a Compilers test tomorrow

Mine and Will’s 5-year anniversary was June 26th, but both of us forgot Will sent me a bouquet of beautiful flowers yesterday to compensate for his memory lapse

After 2 years of misery, I finally got a new phone. And it’s not just any phone, it’s an iPhone!

I drove from Tuscaloosa to Florence Friday afternoon so that I could go with my mom to buy it. I arrived in town at 4:30pm, and there was already a line outside the AT&T store! (Florence isn’t a big town, so I wasn’t expecting a line.) It was almost 100°F outside, so I wasn’t interested in standing in line My mom talked me into going 15 minutes early (she was as excited as I was!). I only waited about 30 minutes. In that time, however, I made a new friend and received a job offer

It’s really an amazing gadget. Even my mom and dad, who are technologically challenged, like to play with it I’m anxious to receive the case I ordered for it because I’m so scared I’m going to drop it!

My favorite feature is the QWERTY keyboard. Now, I can actually type more than 3 words in a txt message

After the ceremony, my parents took Will and me to our favorite Japanese restaurant I filled up on sushi before the chef arrived at our hibachi, so I have an entire meal awaiting me in the fridge.

When we got back to my apartment, I found a BEAUTIFUL surprise…

On another note, anyone interested in a pair of brown cotton leggings? I bought them at a local boutique for $21, but they were too small for me. If you want them, you can have them for free. The size is medium and the tags are still attached. Email me for more details. Rin called them first

I was so excited because I’ve always wanted tulips (my favorite flowers) but never received any. Last night, Will and me ate at Cypress Inn (a local fancy restaurant) with Al and Liz The grilled jumbo shrimp was amazing! I even had leftovers for lunch today.

Birthday girl, Jem, released her newest version of BellaBook. It’s a great guestbook script, I really recommend it. I’ve even written two plugins for it

I’ve been working on the website for the U of A Philosophy Department non-stop. It’s a work in progress, but you can catch a sneak-peak of it here.

Batman Begins is really good… 5 out of 5, in my opinion. It’s not silly at all, like some comic book adaptions. I hope to see War of the Worlds this weekend. I’m sure I’ll love it because Steven Spielberg can do no wrong in my eyes

Other than the fact that it never snows, I absolutely love the weather here in the south. I wore a tshirt to class today. It felt like early summer outside. I wish that Will and I didn’t have so much homework because we would’ve taken Pixie for a walk in the park this afternoon. Maybe Spring and Summer will come early this year!

Saturday was wonderful! William and I celebrated our two-year anniversary We drove to Birmingham, AL to eat at a Japanese restaurant called Stix, which was excellent. We both ordered steak & chicken. I love Japanese food! Next time, we’re ordering sushi as well. I told William since we eat Japanese food so often, we have to learn to use the chopsticks… that’s my new goal.

I would like everyone to meet my new pet guinea pig, CoCo She was my other anniversary surprise from William. I wanted a kitten, but I can’t afford one right now. The pet deposit at my apartment is $300 plus $10 added to the rent each month I decided to get a cavy (guinea pig) instead of a hamster or a ferret because the people at the pet shop told me that cavies smell much better. CoCo is very loving; however, she is quite skittish. We’re still trying to adjust to one another.
