I’m going to the beach this weekend and I may or may not take my laptop. (How sad is that? I’m on vacation and I still can’t live without internet! :P)

He arrived today!

Straight from Japan… my very own Domo-kun! He even has Japanese labels. Isn’t he cute?? I love his flat feet… he can stand up just like the videos. I him! Will bought him for me from JList.Com and he’s a very high-quality plush. He’s the exact plush featured in the infamous picture I also got a cute pen, but I’ll save that for next paragraph…

I’ve never been so mad at Pixie. She destroyed my brand-new Domo-kun pen!!! :grumpy: I was so upset. I should’ve known better than to leave it on the table. Pixie loves to steal things off the dining room table. She still received quite a scolding! Thank goodness it’s still in stock… I’ll be able to get another.

Will’s back from Washington D.C. I’ve been so lonely without him!

I just washed an entire load of laundry only to realize afterwards that I forgot to add the detergent I’m up washing clothes because I’m scared I won’t have any power to do it for the next few days. We lost power during Hurricane Ivan and it was so hot… that was in September! I can’t even imagine how hot it will be without power in the middle of July. According to CNN, Dennis is still supposed to be a category-1 hurricane when it hits us here in Tuscaloosa… I’m kind of scared.

I got a postcard from my friend Marie who is studying abroad in Spain this summer, how exciting! I’m so jealous I also found out that a fellow cheerleader from high school is pregnant. Now I have an excuse to buy the adorable octopus baby toy I saw while shopping the other day. When you squeeze one of his legs, he plays music and his cheeks light up! It is sooooo cute. I couldn’t find it anywhere on the internet, so I better go buy it tomorrow since there weren’t many left.

Laundry is finished… gotta go fold clothes!

OMG OMG OMG… I’m sitting here at my desk at work and a HUGE roach just crawled up the wall in front of me… AHHHHHH!!! I had to go find a nice boy to kill it for me, he stepped on it three times before it finally died!! I hope there are no more *dies*

So, I got a new job. Well, two jobs actually, but the first job is for course credit instead of money. First off, I was asked to design the website for the Philosophy department at the university. I’m really excited since I’ll be able to use some of my new CSS and PHP skills Second, I’m working as a systems administrator for the Business school technology department. I just started last Monday and I’ve already learned a ton of new stuff. I’m currently shadowing a grad student who is moving soon. He totally lost me today talking about networking… Hopefully I’ll understand it better once I start playing with it.

You may have noticed already, but I finally converted my site to pure css! (i.e. The content is exactly the same on every page. The layout is totally governed by a stylesheet) Take a look at my page with the stylesheet turned off and you’ll see what I mean. I’ve only implemented Bliss, 3-d, Doodleblog, Fruit, and Cleaned-Up so far… I’ll get around to fixing the other skins sometime this summer Oh and also, BubblesSOC is now valid XHTML 1.1.

Who all went to see Revenge of the Sith? I did, twice! Will and I met some friends in Birmingham for the midnight showing. While waiting for 12am to roll around, I ventured to Wal-Mart to buy a light saber. They were sold out, so I got a Vader mask instead. I think I was the first Darth Vader to don a mini-skirt I went to see it again with my dad on Saturday. The special effects were mind-blowing and I’m buying the soundtrack as soon as I get paid. I thought it was amazing, but my heart still belongs to the original trilogy. I have to admit though, Anakin is pretty hot You can listen to some selected Star Wars tracks in my Radio Blog.

My inbox is overflowing!! I’ll try to get back to everyone who has emailed me asap. Next week, I’m going to start getting the Qbee Admin Script ready for public release. Well, that’s all I gots to say tonight! If you’re lucky, I’ll post again tomorrow hehe

Aww, thank you all so much for the birthday wishes! I feel so loved Aneesah’s and Peter’s gifts are displayed in the Awards/Gifts section. You can also see the beautiful birthday patches I received on my quilt. I had a wonderful day. My parents got me a Wacom Graphire₃ 4×5 Tablet. Will ordered me a Coach purse, but they sent it to Tuscaloosa instead of Florence

Tuesday morning, we took Pixie to get spayed. The vet let me see her when she was waking up from the surgery. She was still groggy and she kept bumping in to the sides of the cage I felt so sorry for her. She is feeling much better now, though. She is supposed to be ‘taking it easy,’ but instead, she’s as playful as ever!

Tuesday evening, William, Michael, and I drove up to Nashville, TN to see Rachael and celebrate my birthday. That night, we went to a bar called The Tin Roof… it was a lot of fun. We saw a couple of famous people The following day we ate at an awesome sushi buffet called Ru San’s … it was a really cool place, I felt like I was at a restaurant in NYC! You can see a couple of pictures from the night in my album.

As soon as I finish my webring script, I’m going to start on a new layout for this place. It’s time for a bright, summery look

Spring Break is here and I can finally relax!! This is the first time I’ve been home to see my family since Christmas I’ve been so busy with school this semester.

I recently learned some cool PHP tricks, so I’ve been coding a lot lately. I added an admin panel to my plugboard script, but I’m sure it’s full of bugs since I wrote it in five minutes I also wrote a quilt management script for the Quilting Bee that I am quite proud of. If you’re a Qbee member and you’re interested in using my script, just email me for the details. Right now, I’m working on a script for my Ringsurf-powered webring, Oh My Cuteness. When I complete the script, I think I’m going to start from scratch and be a little more selective for membership.

I’m so proud of William! He got an internship with Congressman Aderholt of Alabama for this summer. I’m going to be lonely without him. The good news is that I’ll get to go to Washington D.C. to visit him

Just two more days until I’m 21! I can’t believe that I’m practically an adult Too bad our vacation plans for this week didn’t work out… I was going to celebrate my birthday at the beach. I’ve asked my parents to get me one of these tablet thingies… anyone familiar with them? If so, is there a certain type/brand that you can recommend?

Visit Natasja and Dayna

I’m so sorry for neglecting my website and my dailies. This time of the year, school gets really hectic. I’m going to be really busy until Spring Break, then after Spring Break, I’ll be busy until the end of the semester. I’ll try to update as much as possible, but don’t count on hearing from me daily.

I don’t know if I mentioned it before, but I’m a terrible reader. As a result, I’ve missed out on a lot of great books. I’m also at a disadvantage when it comes to school. So far, I’ve made it through three years of college with hardly ever consulting a textbook. Lately, I realized that if I intend to do well in my studies, I’m going to have to make myself a better reader. Therefore, I bought three books this week: Animal Farm, 1984 (I’ve always wanted to read those two), and The Other Boelyn Girl. I’ve already finished the Animal Farm and I’ve started 1984. The Animal Farm was so good that I couldn’t put it down… and ended up missing two classes

Last night, my friends and I went to hear Jackson Jones (Rach’s boyfriend, Michael’s band) at a bar in downtown Tuscaloosa. They are so good!! Here are some pics from the night:

I’ve chosen my top five favorites from the past Caption Challenge. It was really a tough decision since I had about ten favorites. In the end, I picked the captions submitted by Chris, Arwen, Katy, Tuan, and Yajaira. I’ve posted a new picture for the challenge, so go give it a shot!

I gotta go to bed now. I have a Calculus test Tuesday and I’m determined I’m going to make a perfect score. I could’ve had 100% on the first exam, but I chose to watch anime instead of studying I’m going to study all day tomorrow like a good student!

Happy Valentine’s Day! Hope yours was as good as mine. I have the best boyfriend on the planet! Will surprised me with a dozen pink roses and a Whitman’s Sampler (my favorite chocolates). He also tied two heart balloons to my car while I was in class. Talk about romantic! This marks our third Valentine’s Day together.

Other than the fact that it never snows, I absolutely love the weather here in the south. I wore a tshirt to class today. It felt like early summer outside. I wish that Will and I didn’t have so much homework because we would’ve taken Pixie for a walk in the park this afternoon. Maybe Spring and Summer will come early this year!
