Sarah’s Flickr set inspired me to dig out my Nintendo DS Lite and play AC:WW again. Since it had been over a year since I last played, I decided to rebuild my town (and give it a proper name). I’m currently paying off my third mortgage to Tom Nook and I’ve become an amazing fisherman (snagging several octopi!) If you are interested in exchanging friend codes please let me know! Dragon*Con 2009

I was unaware of Dragon*Con until Will told me that he saw Wolverine waiting on the MARTA last year. I had completely forgotten about it until last Sunday, which left me little time to order the Sailor Venus costume I wanted. I racked my brain for a costume I could throw together in a short period of time. I first considered nurse Elle Driver from Kill Bill but I figured people would think I was just a “sexy” nurse. Ultimately I decided to be a Baby Jane Splicer from BioShock (my favorite game ever).

My dress is an 80s Jessica McClintock prom dress I found on eBay.

You can see more of my photos from the convention on my Flickr. This year I was only able to attend Friday evening and Sunday. Will and I signed up for the Halo 3 tournament but were unable to compete because Will didn’t get off work on time. I overslept Saturday and missed the parade Next year I plan to purchase the weekend pass (and score some autographs!)

Sites like the following are what originally inspired me to pursue web design!

I remember Ducky Feet from my early days. The owner mentions “erinarea, d*d*d, rainbowlicious, chibilicious, munchichi, flooidkiss, lil bee’s world, cotton candy thrill” on her credits page. I once adored most of those sites as well! (I don’t remember d*d*d or cotton candy thrill… anyone care to refresh my memory? I bet Kimi or Dodo could )

Wedding Updates

I recently spent my Spring Break in Destin, FL meeting with vendors for the wedding We set the date for October 31st, 2009 — HALLOWEEN! There will be no black wedding dress nor costumed attendants, although there are a couple of small surprises in store for the guests at the reception

The Venue

We chose Rosemary Beach for our venue. The ceremony will take place on the beach with the reception following on the Eastern Green.

I uploaded some photos of my hair/makeup trial to Flickr (friends only). I was very happy with the results but I’m requesting another trial. My skin will be a lot darker by October so I want my makeup adjusted accordingly before the big day. I also would like my hair styled with the veil I choose (I decided on a birdcage veil instead of a flower.)

The cake is what I’m most excited about. A post dedicated to the cake is coming soon.

I created a Twitter for all things wedding. I’ve also started on our website. There’s a lot of pressure concerning the site — all my IRL friends say, “I’m sure your wedding website will be awesome!” so the site must be perfect

My dress shipped on March 31st so it should be here any day now!

I think that’s about it. Now I need to design my Save the Dates and find some dresses for my bridesmaids.

So the best television series ever returned for its fifth season tonight. Too bad my DVR decided not to record the first hour I was, however, able to watch the second half. Will and I discussed the episode’s events through text messages:

In other news, my OS professor asked me to help out with a project. I don’t know any details other than I’ll be in charge of bug reporting and helping out with the website. Adding this job to my current schedule means that I’ll be cutting back on Halo
